He is a Director at Advanced Finance & Investment Group LLC (“AFIG”) an Africa-focused private equity firm based in Dakar . He has extensive investment banking and operational experience. Prior to joining AFIG, Mr. Nwuneli was the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of MTS First Wireless Ltd.
Mr. Nwuneli was also a Vice President of Investments for Ocean & Oil Holdings. He has served as a Senior Associate at Securities Transactions & Trust Company (SecTrust) in Nigeria , and prior to that appointment, he was a Financial Analyst in J.P. Morgan & Co’s mergers & acquisitions team in New York . He started his career with the corporate finance team of the Sabre Group in Dallas in 1995.
Mr. Nwuneli holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.Sc. in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University . In 2007, he was selected by the African Leadership Institute as an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow, and is also a member of the Board of the Centre for Microenterprise Development.
